We've tried to be as forthcoming and complete as possible and tell you everything we think you need to know about Camp Tahquitz, but maybe there are a few questions that are lingering? See if any of your answers are below and if not, please contact your Scoutmaster or the LBAC Scout Office during normal business hours at (562)427-0911. We want you to have the best possible camp experience, and to fully understand what we have to offer.
How many merit badges can I work on at camp?
There are no official limits to earning merit badges at camp. Each Scout should talk to their Scoutmaster about what badges are appropriate for them to work on during the week. Scouts who are working on more than 3-4 merit badges usually don’t have enough time to enjoy other camp activities.
How much money do I need to bring with me to camp?
The Trading Post has many souvenirs (patches, T-shirts, mugs, etc), supplies and snacks on sale, plus some programs (especially craft lodge merit badges) require purchase of additional items. However, all meals (Sunday dinner through Saturday breakfast) and basic activity costs are included in the camp fee.
How can my parents contact me?
The camp phone number for emergencies is (909) 794-2932. This phone is only in the camp office, so only messages can be relayed to troop campsites. (Also see Mail Service for camp address).
How do I sign up for camp?
Participation at Camp Tahquitz is by Scout Troop. Check with your Scoutmaster to find out about your troop’s summer camp plans.
What if my troop isn’t going to Camp Tahquitz? Scouts whose troops have other summer plans or are not planning a long-term camp may contact the Council Service Center (562) 427-0911 to arrange to attend Camp Tahquitz with another unit.
